Lam Dong seeks first national tourism site title
Lam Dong (VNA) – The People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong is seeking the Prime Minister’s recognition of its Tuyen Lam Lake tourist site in Da Lat city as a national tourism site.
The province’s effort in
preparing the related dossier has been backed by the Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism and if approved, the Tuyen Lam lake tourist site will become
the country’s first national tourism site.
The site started operations in 2004. To date, as many as ten out of 37 projects
in the site have become operational with a total investment capital of 2.4
trillion VND (116 million USD). Some of them are Edensee resort, Datanla
Waterfall Tourism Site, K’Lan eco-tourism site and Thanh Quang Orchids garden.
As many as seven projects in the site will begin operations in 2017.
The locality has also planned to grow cherry trees and landscape forests on an area of over 334 hectares surrounding the site.
The Tuyen Lam Lake
site has contributed about 20 billion VND to the local budget, attracted
approximate 2 million domestic and international tourists every year while
creating about 1,000 jobs, according the provincial People’s Committee.
The Tuyen Lam Lake site, together with 46 other sites across the country, have
been planned to become national tourist sites by the Vietnam Administration of
Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 2001.-VNA
