Lao, Cuban party to further boost ties
Laos is to increase its cooperation with Cuba in a number of
fields, President Choummaly Sayasone said during a meeting with the
Cuban State Council Vice President, Lazara Mercedes Lopez Acea, in
Vientiane on September 18.

Acea , who is on an official visit to Laos from September 17-19, congratulated Laos on its achievements in recent years and the success of the 35 th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA)that Laos hosted recently.
On the same day, the Cuban leader also met with Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou and held talks with Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Bounpone Bouttavong.
As part of her visit, Lazara Mercedes Lopez Acea, who is also first secretary of the Party Committee of the Cuban capital Havana , held a working session with the Party committee and authorities of Vientiane.-VNA
