Lao public security force marks 50th anniversary

The Vietnamese Minister of Public Security, General Le Hong Anh, was also present at the event.
Addressing the celebration, Minister of Public Security Thongbanh Sengaphone affirmed that the public security force has wholeheartedly served the country’s revolution and the people throughout the past 50 years.
He noted that the force has worked closely with the army, local authorities and people to firmly defend the national border and sovereignty.
It has ensured absolute safety for Party and State leaders as well as foreign leaders during their visits to Laos , and international meetings and major festivals in the country, the minister said.
He took this opportunity to thank the Vietnamese Party and Government for helping the public security force in particular and Laos in general.
On the occasion, President Choummaly Sayasone awarded the National Gold Order to the Lao Ministry of Public Security.
General Le Hong Anh, on behalf of State President Nguyen Minh Triet, presented the Gold Star Order, the highest distinction of the Vietnamese State, to the Lao Ministry of Public Security in recognition of its contributions to enhancing the Vietnam-Laos special friendship./.
