The Lao government has presented 100,000 USD to support flood victims in the central and Mekong Delta regions of Vietnam.

Lao Deputy Foreign Minister Alounkeo Kittikhoun handed over the money to Vietnamese Ambassador Ta Minh Chau to Laos on Oct. 28.

Deputy Minister Alounkeo Kittikhoun said the donation manifested the long-lasting traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two countries’ people.

The Lao Party, Government and people believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will overcome difficulties to build the country stronger and wealthier.

Ambassador Ta Minh Chau said the aid relief is of significance, especially at a time when 12 out of 16 provinces and cities of Laos are suffering heavy losses from floods.

Also on the same day, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam , Ha Chan-ho, handed over 200,000 USD to the Vietnam Red Cross Society as relied aid to flood victims in the Mekong Delta.

Ambassador Ha extended his sympathy to people affected by the floods, stressing that the RoK always supports the Vietnamese people, especially when they are hit by natural disasters./.
