Vietnam’s General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) began a training course on information work for 15 officials from the Laos Federation of Trade Unions’ (LFTU) Central Committee in Hanoi on September 5.

On addressing the opening ceremony, VGCL’s Vice President Hoang Ngoc Thanh said that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have encouraged the development of workers’ movements and trade union activities in both countries.

He affirmed that Vietnam ’s trade union attaches a great deal of importance to developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with the LFTU’s Central Committee and sees this as a top priority in its international activities.

In the context of the information boom, mass information work plays an important role to help workers access the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws in an adequate and sound way, said Thanh.

During the five-day course, the officials will be equipped with the necessary skills to ensure they carry out efficient information work.-VNA
