The Lions Clubs International Foundation, District 354-D of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on May 31 handed over a school to Ham Tri commune, Ham Thuan Bac district, in the central province of Binh Thuan, after three months of construction.

Ham Tri 1 Primary School was built at a total cost of 2.8 billion VND, including 1.6 billion VND from the RoK foundation.

The school used to be seriously downgraded and was unsuitable for teaching and learning.

Ji Ki Hwan, President of Lion Clubs RoK-District 354-D, said with the establishment of the school, the foundation expects to create better conditions and contribute to teaching and studying in the new school year.

On the occasion, the foundation presented nearly 200 gifts, including school bags and learning tools, to local pupils.

Earlier, the foundation also granted 30 houses, each worth 50 million VND, to poor people in the three communes of Ham Tri, Thuan Hoa and Hong Son./.
