Vietnamese athletes set up three records at the sixth Para Games in Solo City , Central Java, in Indonesia on Dec. 18.

Powerlifter Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan elevated 98kg to win her gold medal and set a new record in the women's up-to-52kg category.

She lifted 3kg more than fellow countrywoman Dinh Thi Nga, who set the previous record at the Games in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia , in 2009.

Nguyen Thi Sa Ri made her dream come true on Dec. 18 with a record in the women's 100m breaststroke swimming event.

After a disappointing result in the 50m breaststroke on Friday, Ri finished first in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 2min 20.20sec to break her own previous record of 2:27.30.

Vietnam 's third record belonged to swimmer Vo Thanh Tung who finished his 100m freestyle race in 1min 19.62sec to break the eight-year-old 1:32.20 record of Thai Kaewkham Voravit.

It was Tung's second record at the Games. His first was set up in the 50m butterfly event on Friday.

After seven days, Vietnamese athletes had broken 14 records alongside pocketing four gold medals in swimming, one in power lifting and two in athletics.

The country's chess masters were unsuccessful on Dec. 18, having participated in five categories without medal results.

With a total of 30 gold, 36 silver and 45 bronze medals, Vietnam finished in fourth position behind Malaysia , with 37 gold, 25 silver and 25 bronze medals, Thailand and host Indonesia firmly in first and second place, respectively.

The Para Games, the largest sporting festival in the region for athletes with disabilities, will continue until Dec. 22./.
