– The Malaysian Immigration Department announced that it busted a ring making fake passports and immigration permits for foreigners who illegally reside in the country.

The immigration authority found several stickers and fake cards, including Enforcement Cards (E-kad), identification cards for international students, passports, Visit Pass Temporary Employment and Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia cards.

The process to make a fake E-kad could only take about five minutes, Mustafar Ali, Director General of the Immigration Department, said at a press conference on August 14.

On August 13, immigration staff nabbed two Bangladeshi nationals in Ampang town, Kuala Lumpur for involving in the ring, especially those from Bangladesh. The master forger pocketed millions of ringgit from selling fake cards.

The syndicate earned 50,000-70,000 ringgit (13,000-15,000 USD) per month in the past year. They offered international employers fake documents for between 1,000-4,000 ringgit (240-1,000 USD).-VNA
