Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia’s authorities on March 29 arrested 268 foreigners without legal documents, including some Vietnamese, during the “Op Ikrar” campaign in Dengkil of Selangor state.

The campaign focused on five illegal residential areas, with the participation of 178 officers of several competent agencies such as the Immigration Department and the National Registration Department.

Director General of the Immigration Department Mustafar Ali said the arrested peoples, aged between 20-40, came from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand. They held no legal documents or had expired visas.

According to Mustafar, the department will show no mercy for foreigners living illegally in Malaysia and continue carrying out similar campaigns.-VNA
