Malaysian Minister of Transport Liow Tiong Lai said on August 6 that more debris, including a window, have been found on the French territory Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean.

According to the Minister, they could not confirm that the items belonged to Malaysia Airlines flight MH 370, which went missing in March 2014. The newly founded debris has been sent to French authorities for verification.

He noted Malaysia had asked authorities in neighbouring areas, including Mauritius and Madagascar, to help comb their beaches for possible debris to widen the search.

Earlier, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said a wing flap found on Reunion was from the missing plane.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flight MH 370 went missing in March 2014 with 239 people on board en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

In January, the Malaysian Government officially announced that the disappearance of the airplane was an accident. The passengers and crew members were declared officially deceased.-VNA
