Malaysia’s rubber export jumped 32.3 percent year-on-year in September to 79,808 tonnes, according to the country’s Department of Statistics.

China tops the country’s rubber importers with 41.2 percent, followed by Germany (14.4 percent), Iran (11.1 percent), Brazil (4.1 percent), the US (3.9 percent), the Republic of Korea (3.3 percent), Finland (2.3 percent) and Portugal (1.8 percent).

Meanwhile, Malaysia also imported 87,288 tonnes of rubber in the same month, up 9.1 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, with 80.2 percent of the imports coming from Thailand and Vietnam.

Also according to the statistics department, the country’s natural rubber output in September dropped 1.3 percent year on year to 71,921 tonnes.-VNA
