Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia will send experts to Australia in February 2016 to assist Australia in the fight against terrorism, announced Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on December 7.

He said the experts will be from the Royal Malaysian Police, the Prisons Department and the Malaysia Islamic Development Department, as well as university lecturers.


Australia is now facing risks of terrorism from immigrants who came from the Middle East, the Deputy PM said after receiving Michael Keenan, Australia's Minister for Justice and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on Counter-Terrorism.

Malaysia and Australia are determined to boost security cooperation through the Combating Transnational Crime Cooperation Meeting and Counter-Terrorism Cooperation Meeting, he affirmed.-VNA
