More than 200 companies from both at home and abroad are showcasing their products at the 16th Vietnam International Medical and Pharmaceutical Expo, which opened in Hanoi on May 13.

On display at close to 350 booths is a wide range of medicines, equipment used in physiotherapy, ophthalmology and dentistry, as well as the latest pharmaceutical technologies.

A campaign to encourage people to donate blood and free medical consultations and checks-up will form parts of the four-day event, also known as Vietnam Medi-Pharm.

Opening the expo, Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Cao Minh Quang said the annual show is a chance for local and foreign businesses to promote their products, share experiences and seek partners, helping to accelerate the country’s integration and development.

This year’s exhibition will also introduce a host of achievements Vietnam had recorded in providing healthcare services to local people, the deputy minister added./.
