The Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang will make its administrative procedures more transparent for investors, especially in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, human resources training, support industry, tourism and services.

The province will shorten a project-licensing duration to 5-7 days along with reducing land rent and tax for projects on a case-by-case basis.

It will also assist investors in ground clearance, human resources training, credit guarantee and copyright registration.

As bordering Can Tho city – an economic, financial, scientific and technological centre of the Mekong Delta region, Hau Giang has greatly benefited from Can Tho International Airport, Cai Cui International Seaport and Can Tho port.

In a recent meeting with 250 leading scientists and businesses in and outside the locality, Ong Phuoc Hai, deputy director of the Hau Giang provincial Department of Planning and Investment, reported that 475 new businesses registered in the province with a total capital of over 1.8 trillion VND (88.78 million USD) in 2013.

The province is now home to 2,600 businesses, recording a fivefold rise from 2004 when it was established.-VNA
