Military arms cooperation important to Vietnam-India defence ties

General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s
Army, has stressed the importance of cooperation between the militaries
of Vietnam and India to the countries’ defence ties.
The Vietnamese officer undertook a visit to the Hindan Air Force Station
of the West Air Command of India and the Eastern Naval Command of the
Indian Navy on September 26-27 as part of his tour of the South Asian
country.
He expressed his hope that the two armed
forces will strengthen cooperation and experience sharing to contribute
to ensuring peace, stability and national development.
Top officers of the two militaries said that they would pursue a
stronger friendship so that both sides could learn from each other,
especially in the ways of overcoming non-traditional security
challenges.
Commander in Chief of the Eastern
Naval Command of the India Navy Vice Admiral Anil Chopra said India
pursues a preventive diplomatic policy in the principle of positively
and actively meeting, sharing experience and conducting joint activities
with foreign friends to ensure peace, stability and development in the
region as well as in the world.-VNA
