Nguyen Tien Minh of Vietnam won the men's singles title at the Sydney International badminton tournament on September 26 in Australia.

The nation's No 1 layer ended his one-year international title draught after beating No 1 seed Zulfadli Zulkiffli of Malaysia 21-12, 21-13 in the final match.

It was his third win over Zulkiffli in his career.

The victory brought Minh 1,350 USD and 4,000 points to strengthen his world ranking.

Minh, who is currently world No 38, will next take part in a Chinese Taipei Grand Prix next month and then a tournament in the US in December.-VNA
