In the 2012-2013 dry season, remains of 86 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers fallen in Cambodia, have been brought back to the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai for reburial.

The remains were found mainly in the Cambodian provinces of Rattanakiri, Stung Treng, and Preah Vihear, where concerned agencies have said as home to an estimated 600 more Vietnamese martyrs.

The figure from the 2012-13 dry season has brought the number of remains of fallen Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Cambodia founded by the search team of the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command to 1,230 since 2001, but only 43 of them had been identified.

The future search and repatriation of the fallen soldiers in Cambodia will be hard, challenged by the availability of sufficient related information and far-reaching tough natural features.-VNA
