Vietnam expects to bring its goods to major outlets across Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and member states of free trade agreements between now and 2020.

Under a scheme recently approved by the Prime Minister, an archive storing up-to-date information on targeted markets and a database on Vietnamese exporters and shipments will be built.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will launch a section on its website that lists wholesalers of Vietnamese goods abroad.

Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters will receive guidance on producing and supplying goods up to international technical and quality standards, with an initial focus on major currency earners.

Trade promotion and business-to-business connectivity activities are expected to prioritise those within the framework of the national trade promotion programme, including branding, marketing and facilitating operations of commercial and trade promotion offices overseas.

Vietnamese Goods weeks will target distribution chains in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia, where marketing campaigns are scheduled to be launched.

Other measures include encouraging foreign-invested distributors to engage in manufacturing, facilitating the opening of logistics warehouses abroad and improving the capacity of Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters.-VNA
