On the eve of the 50th anniversary of the horrific 1968 massacre of more than 500 Vietnamese villagers by American soldiers in My Lai, Vietnam, a piece of music to commemorate the event will be performed at the Singapore International Festival of Arts 2017.

 

The My Lai music piece reminds audience the horrors of the battlefield and the blight of the Vietnam War on the American soul. 

The artwork will be performed by zither artist Vanessa Vo Van Anh, and Kronos Quartet group from the USA.

Themed “enchantment”, plays presented at the festival will feature beautiful characteristics of modern society such as tolerance, generosity and passion for life in order to inspire young generations to create a more beautiful world.

The festivalwill run from June 28 to September 9.-VNA.
