Hanoi (VNA) – The Myanmar government’s army captured eight more men involving in attacks in border posts in Maungtaw, the western state of Rakhine, according to local media. 

Those people were arrested in a raid in Ngarsarkyu village of Maungtaw on October 27. 

Earlier, on October 18, the government military seized 11 armed men in Ngakhuya village, who were defined to get involved in the attacks in three border posts in Maungtaw on October 9. 

Since then, a series of clashes occurred between government troops and armed men in Maungtaw, during which 30 people, including two women, were killed and 12 were captured. 

Five soldiers and eight police officers were also killed in those clashes. 

Myanmar’s government claimed that the Aqua Mul Mujahidin organisation led by Havistoohar received financial support from foreign terrorist groups to attack the border posts and Islamic extremists were involved in those attacks.-VNA
