National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on September 7 (Vietnam time) visited the US National Archives Museum as part of his official visit to the country.

At the world-class museum, the Vietnamese top legislator was introduced to the original US Declaration of Independence and the country’s first Constitution, which are now preserved with modern techniques and strict security.

He was also briefed on the US’s law-making and constitutional amendment processes.

Earlier, Chairman Hung and his entourage visited the hometown of first US President George Washington, an influential political and military leader in the country’s history, in Mount Vernon city of Virginia state.

George Washington was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution War, and an international symbol for national liberation movements and nationalism.

On this occasion, the legislator also visited the American Museum of National History in northwestern Washington which displays the US’s historical heritage examples in politics, social affairs, culture, science and military.-VNA
