Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has advanced 173 places to reach world No. 1,002 in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) men’s doubles rankings.

At the recent Vietnam F4 Men’s Futures tennis tournament in the southern province of Binh Duong, Nam paired with China’s Ouyang Bowen and reached the final match.

This result helped him earn 10 more points in the rankings, leaving his points total at 28.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Thien remained ranked 1,164.

In the men’s singles, Nam increased 23 places to reach 929th place in the world rankings.

In the Vietnam F5 Men’s Futures, which wrapped up on September 25, Nam won two titles in the men’s singles and doubles, but the ATP hasn’t updated its rankings. When the ATP updates in its rankings next week, Nam is expected to enter the top 700.-VNA
