Lao Deputy Foreign Minister Sounthon Saynhachac visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane on September 1 to convey his good wishes on the occasion of the 69 th anniversary of Vietnam ’s National Day.

Sounthon Saynhachac, who is also a member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of its External Committee, lauded the significant achievements the Vietnamese people have gained so far.

Vietnam ’s triumphs act as an encouragement for the people of Laos during their national defence and construction efforts, he said.

He thanked the Party, Government and people of Vietnam for their support over the past years, expressing his hope that in the future the two countries will continue their close collaboration.

In turn, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung noted that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is growing and now covers an increasing amount of fields of cooperation.

He said he hopes the two sides will reinforce their comprehensive affiliation, consolidating their special friendship and mutual solidarity for the benefit of both peoples and for peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.

On the same day, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Phnom Penh held an event marking August Revolution Day and the 69 th National Day, which saw the participation of the Vietnamese Embassy’s Counsellor Nguyen Van Sy, Vietnamese businesses and nationals residing in Cambodia .

Addressing the event, Association Chairman Huynh Minh Phu expressed his delight at Vietnam ’s development progress, saying that the Vietnamese community in Cambodia firmly believes in Vietnam ’s bright future under the leadership of the Party.

Counsellor Sy affirmed the Party and State’s policy of regarding overseas Vietnamese, including those living in Cambodia , as an indispensable part of the nation.

On August 31, the Vietnamese community in Israel organised an event in Tel Aviv to celebrate Vietnam ’s special occasions.

Ambassador Ta Duy Chinh reiterated the significance of the August Revolution, which is an important milestone in the country’s history.

In the spirit of the revolution, the Vietnamese people have over the past 69 years united to overcome all obstacles, building a strong nation and boosting national defence, he noted.

The diplomat added that Vietnam ’s standing in the global arena is constantly increasing, making it a trustworthy and reliable partner for countries around the world.

Ambassador Chinh also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Israel will continue its efforts to promote mutual solidarity whilst protecting their national identities, thus contributing to an enhanced cooperation between Vietnam and Israel.-VNA
