The Vietnam National Geriatric Hospital was granted with the Labour Order (First Class) during the 30 th anniversary of its establishment held in Hanoi on November 14.

At the ceremony, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thi Xuyen spoke highly of the achievements that the doctors and staff have recorded over the past 30 years, noting that the hospital has become the country’s leading establishment in caring for the elderly.

She expressed her hope that in the coming time, the hospital’s staff will further improve the quality of health services offered and apply cutting-edge technology in medical examination and treatment.

In 2013, the hospital has already given check-ups and treatment to 62,000 patients, five times higher than 2007. It also organises up to 10 elderly care courses for local hospitals every year. It plans to upgrade its current facilities and construct two further establishments in Hanoi soon.-VNA
