Vietnam confirmed 167 more cases of A/H1N1 infection on September 22, raising the country’s total number to 7,362 with nine fatalities.

Of the new cases, 84 patients are in the south, 47 in the north, 25 in the central region, and the others in the Central Highlands, reported the Preventive Medicine and Environment Department under the Health Ministry.

To date, 4,877 A/H1N1 cases have been discharged from hospital while the remainder is currently quarantined for treatment. All are in stable health condition.

The number of students contracting to the flue has been increasing with the start of the new school year. According to preliminary estimates, the epidemic has hit nearly 100 schools nationwide, including 50 in Ho Chi Minh City./.
