credentials to ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh at its
Jakatar-based headquaters on February 18.
At the reception for Norwegian Ambassador Stig Ingemar Traavik, Minh asked Norway to continue supporting ASEAN in its integration, narrowing the development gap among member nations, boosting human and energy resources as well as sharing experience in conciliation.
For his part, Traavik expressed his wish to enhance a closer and more practical cooperation between Norway and the bloc, informing Minh of his country’s intention to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC).
At the reception for Qatari Ambassador, Minh spoke highly of Qatar’s wish to cooperate with the regional grouping, highlighting the huge potential for cooperation between the two sides.
Khater highly valued the bloc’s efforts in creating favourable conditions for prosperity and economic growth in the region, emphasising the potential for cooperation between the two sides in the fields of trade and investment, especially in food, petrol and tourism.-VNA
