Hoa An bridge, spanning a river in the southern province of Dong Nai, is put into use from July 4 and expected to help ease traffic flow on north-south National Highway 1A.

The 1.3 km long concrete structure over the Dong Nai River was built in three years at a cost of nearly 1.2 trillion VND (57.1 million USD). It allows vehicles weighing up to 30 tonnes to travel through.

The Hoa An bridge project on National Highway 1K also includes three intersections between the highway and roads in the province’s Bien Hoa city.

They are hoped to not only relieve traffic volume on National Highway 1A but also facilitate travel from the city to neighbouring Binh Duong province, Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai spoke highly of efforts by Dong Nai authorities and contractors to complete the project on schedule, adding that facilities like Hoa An bridge will give an impetus for Bien Hoa’s growth.

The same day, Deputy PM Hai launched an order to start the construction of an underpass and a flyover on National Highway 1A section, which runs through Bien Hoa city.

The paths with four lanes each are part of National Highway 1A and have a total investment of 485 billion VND (23.1 million USD).

The two projects expected to be completed in eight and six months, respectively.-VNA
