The Hanoi Rehabilitation Hospital and Sanatorium (HRHAS) opened in Thanh Xuan district in Hanoi on March 2.

The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Public Health’s Disease Treatment Management Department Tran Quy Tuong, said that Vietnam now has 36 rehabilitation hospitals and 90 percent of every city hospital in the country has a rehabilitation department.

The debut of the 200-bed hospital, following the reorganisation of the Peace Village for disabled children, is expected to provide rehabilitation services to patients with chronic and occupational diseases.

The hospital will also coordinate with preventive medical departments to combat diseases, occupational diseases and prevent disabilities. It will also conduct scientific research on rehabilitation and use both modern and traditional medicines in rehabilitation treatment.

The Peace Village will continue to care for children with disabilities and those affected by Agent Orange./.
