The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is launching a new marketing campaign dubbed "Thailand Connect: Your Global Business Events Connection", targeting buyers from around the world.

The campaign offers promotion packages as incentives for global businesses to support the Thai Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, such as financial support of 200,000 THB for any event with more than 200 participants staying over five nights in Thailand .

It also provides a network within the ASEAN region and business matching activities with special support programme scholarships.

The campaign focuses on boosting the image of Thailand via its huge strengths, including the diversity of destinations, the strategic location at the heart of Asia, with the combined total exhibition space of 223,000 square metres, the most copious in the ASEAN region, and the potential of its five officially-designated ‘MICE Cities’ that offer unbeatable diversity of choice.

In addition, Thailand itself is a major production and export base for key industries, such as automotive parts and industrial components, computers and IT, energy, rubber and plastics.

The country boasts high quality professionals, which have bagged a number of awards from leading agencies in many industries.

According to TCEB’s President Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, in 2014, the TCEB has forecast a growth of 5 percent in the number of MICE travelers, which is expected to be to the tune of nearly one million visitors by year-end, with revenues up by 10 percent.-VNA
