New variants of the Kido virus, which work like Trojans and can resist antivirus software, are on the rise, according to Kaspersky Lab Vietnam.

Net-Worm.Win32 Kido.ip, Net-Worm.Win32.Kido.ip, and other variants use strange domain names from which they can download to computers over 50,000 types of harmful data.

The variants have functions like a Trojan downloader which will download other kinds of viruses and cause network jams.

Software with IDS features will announce attacks with the error message.

The new Kido viruses appeared on January 2 and more than 9 million computers worldwide have been infected.-VNS/VNA
