New Year meeting for foreign embassies, foreign news agencies
The Foreign Ministry hosted a New Year meeting with foreign embassies and foreign media agencies in Vietnam in Hanoi on January 19.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc speaks at the event (Photo: VNA)Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc lauded the role of foreign diplomats and media workers in promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding and friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
He praised the dedicated and professional work of foreign reporters, saying that their stories have covered Vietnam’s socio-economic development and efforts to fulfill its international commitments.
The Deputy Minister stated that the Foreign Ministry will continue supporting foreign media agencies’ activities in Vietnam and strengthening cooperation for practical outcomes.
He told the meeting that in 2016, Vietnam welcomed more than 30 heads of State and senior officials from other countries and successfully organised many important international events. Diplomatic activities have contributed to helping the country attract 15.8 billion USD in foreign investment and 10 million international visitors, up 25 percent year-on-year.-VNA
