The Golden Heart Foundation (GHF) of the Labour Newspaper has handed over seven billion VND (nearly 330,000 USD) to the central provinces to help them overcome the consequences of flooding.

At the event on December 27 in Hanoi, GHF Director Tran Duy Phuong called on organisations and individual donors nationwide to continually help people in difficulty and provide relief for areas hit by natural disasters.

As of December 26, the Labour Newspaper and foundation had collected nearly 12 billion VND from 113 labour unions of agencies, provinces and cities, and individual donors nationwide.

The 10 th , 11 th and 14 th storms of the year that hit Vietnam’s central region caused major damage to people and property in the central provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri.

In response to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour appeal to support the central provinces, organisations, officials and workers across the country have donated one day’s salary to help flood victims./.
