The central province of Nghe An has so far this year licenced 83 investment projects worth 14.32 trillion VND (673.04 million USD), according to the Provincial People’s Committee.

Eighty domestic projects were funded with a total of 14.075 trillion VND, while the rest was injected into three foreign-invested projects.

The province attracted a number of large-scale projects, including the Lan Chau-Song Ngu ecotourism area and resort in Cua Lo town with a total investment of nearly 2 trillion VND, and the Dong Van hydropower project worth 1.55 trillion VND, the committee said.

In order to make its investment environment more attractive, the province rolled out a number of measures, including accelerating administrative reform and providing frequent updates for businesses on provincial plans and policies, the committee said.

From 2015 onwards, Nghe An will hold regular meetings and dialogues with investors to help tackle their problems, the committee elaborated.

Additionally, representatives from the provincial Departments of Planning and Investment, Construction, Natural Resources and the Environment, Finance and Tax teamed up to examine 54 projects in detail to detect violations and propose solutions.

In the future, Nghe An will speed up its ground clearance efforts and address projects that lag behind schedule, the committee added.-VNA
