Tran Manh Dung, Nguyen Manh Dung, Pham Xuan Phu, Le Quang Hung, Chu Ngoc Anh, Le Van Duyet, Nguyen Gia Tu, Phan Anh Tuan and Nguyen Van Hung, all from the dissolved The Vissai Ninh Binh club, were found to have been involved in a match-fixing scandal.
Vietnamese police found suspicious activity surrounding the AFC Cup tie between Ninh Binh and Kelantan in Malaysia’s Kota Bharu on December 25,2014; a game in which the Vietnamese side beat their opponents 3-2. An investigation revealed that the nine players had placed bets on the match and won 800 million VND (36,680 USD).-VNA
