Quang Nam (VNA) – More than 1,000 artists from 10 countries and territories across the world have participated in the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition, which opened on June 7 in Hoi An city in the central province of Quang Nam.

The competition, co-held by Germany’s Interkultur organisation and the People’s Committee of Hoi An city, is a part of the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017.

The five-day event aims to promote culture, heritage and tourism potential of Quang Nam while introducing unique types of choir performances to the public. It is also a chance for Vietnamese artists to exchange performance experience with international choirs.

Besides the official competition, the artists will also perform in a programme named “International Melody” on June 8-9 in Hoi An ancient city.

Exchange programmes between Hoi An city and art troupes from the Republic of Korea will take place from June 11-12.-VNA
