The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) always attaches importance to strengthening friendship and cooperation with the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM).

Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong made this statement while receiving a delegation from KSCM led by its Chairman Vojtech Filip, who is also Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, in Hanoi on April 20.

He said he hoped that relations between the two Parties and legislatives bodies will actively contribute to bolstering the ties between the two countries’ States and people.

The Vietnamese Party leader expressed his gratitude for the valuable support that KSCM and people of the former Czechoslovakia , including the Czech Republic , have gien Vietnam during its national liberation and reunification in the past as well as during the present cause of national construction and development.

For his part, Vojtech Filip extended his congratulations on the success of the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and NA Chairman Trong’s election as Party General Secretary.

The Vietnamese Party’s success is a great encouragement to KSCM staff and members in the current situation, he said.

He took the occasion to brief his host about his country and Party’s situation, saying he will make every effort to step up the friendship and fine traditional cooperation between the two nations.

Earlier, the KSCM delegation held talks with a CPV delegation headed by Hoang Binh Quan, CPV Central Committee member and Director of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for External Relations.

The delegation also worked with a number of NA Committees and Ministry of Industry and Trade./.
