Politburo member Le Hong Anh, who is currently visiting China in his role as Special Envoy of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, met with Wang Jiarui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on August 26.

During the reception, Anh, who is also standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), noted that his visit aims to discuss with Chinese leaders how to restore and boost the relations between the two Parties and the two countries in a healthy, stable and long-term manner so as to fulfill the two peoples’ expectations and interests.

He stressed the need for the two Parties and countries to strengthen their cooperation and maintain their healthy and stable relationship, particularly in the face of tensions in the East Sea which have affected ties between the two Parties and countries as well as security, peace and stability in the region.

The Vietnamese official spoke highly of close collaboration between the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and the Communist Party of China’s International Liaison Department, particularly in the implementation of signed agreements and people-to-people exchange programmes. The coordination has helped deepen the two nations’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and contributed to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world, Anh said.

He expressed hope that in his position as Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and head of the International Liaison Department, Wang will continue his contributions to maintaining and nurturing the bilateral ties.

For his part, Wang affirmed the Chinese side attaches great importance to the visit to China by Anh as Special Envoy of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

He said he believes that the visit will help solve existing disputes and differences between the two countries in a satisfactory way as well as further boost their relations.-VNA
