Philippine President Benigno Aquino III left for his working and state visits to the United States and Canada, respectively, on May 6.

Before his departure, he disclosed his intention to take the opportunity to encourage the two Northern American countries’ investments in the Philippines.

At his first stop in Chicago, the President is expected to meet with the leader of the US Chamber of Commerce and the US – ASEAN Business Council, as well as with the overseas Filipino community.

After his one-day working visit to the US, he will fly to Canada to meet with Governor General David Johnston and Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

He is also scheduled to meet with the overseas Filipino community in the major cities of Toronto and Vancouver.-VNA
