A workshop to share experiences on disaster risk management and response to climate change in Vietnam took place in the central province of Phu Yen on September 25.

At the event, participants shared their experiences in implementing project to help cope with natural disaster and climate change in Vietnam , which was financed the Norwegian Red Cross and the US Red Cross.

With a total investment of 1.8 million USD, the project was carried out in 32 communes in the central provinces of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen and the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai in the 2010-2014 period.

It has been focusing on measures to improve infrastructure, organise training courses to enhance skills for Red Cross workers and raise public awareness of disaster.

After three years of implementation, the project has benefited more than 100,000 people in the localities.-VNA
