Both sides will also coordinate closely to successfully launch activities to mark the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 2017 so as to make the people understand more about the bilateral special relations.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese leader and former Lao PM Thongsing Thammavong recalled strong and effective developments in the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation, including the successful implementation of the 2011-2015 cooperation agreement and the achievement of various important goals in the 2011-2020 strategy on economic, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation.

PM Phuc affirmed the achievements owed much to instructions provided by ex-PM Thongsing Thammavong.
