Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has
expressed his pleasure at the development of Vietnam-Luxembourg ties in
politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, education, training and ODA
support.
Receiving outgoing ambassador Marc Ungeheuer in
Hanoi on Dec. 9, PM Dung welcomed the support of Luxembourg to
Vietnam’s market economy and its negotiations with the EU on a Free
Trade Agreement.
He also thanked Luxembourg for supporting the country in the removal of an EU-imposed anti-dumping tax on Vietnam’s leather shoes.
Welcoming Luxembourg Grand Duke’s
future visit to Vietnam, the PM said he hoped that the visit would
be successful, helping lift the two countries’ relations to new high
level.
Agreements that the two countries plan to sign during the
Grand Duke’s visit will make great contributions to the development of
bilateral relations, he said.
Ambassador Marc Ungeheuer said
during his eight-year working term in Vietnam , he has seen significant
developments in bilateral cooperation between the two countries,
leading Luxembourg to become Vietnam ’s partner instead of a donor
as before.
Vietnam has made positive progresses,
especially when joining the group of middle-income countries, he said.
Together with this, Vietnam and Luxembourg saw the potential for
new developments in financial and aviation sector cooperation, he added.
He also affirmed Luxembourg ’s ongoing support for Vietnam’s relations with the EU in all aspects./.
