Vietnam always realises commitments to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and bilateral trade agreements as well as proactively deepens its integration into the global economy on the basis of fast-growing and sustainable development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the remarks at a reception for US Trade Representative Michael B. G. Froman in Hanoi on November 2.

During the reception, PM Dung underlined the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) which will lay a sound foundation for boosting ties between stakeholders, including Vietnam and the US.

The Government leader also affirmed Vietnam’s close collaboration with the US to reach the targets of the TPP negotiations in line with the balanced interests of relevant parties.

He voiced his hope that the US will consider helping Vietnamese exports, especially garment and textile products, to access the US market during the process of the TPP negotiations to reach agreements tailored for the two sides.

Michael B. G. Froman stressed that successful negotiations for the TPP will boost cooperation between the two countries, notably in the fields of economics, trade and investment.

Speaking highly of the country’s efforts in the negotiations, the US official added that the two sides need to continue discussions, and believed their specific acceptable agreements will be established.-VNA
