Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Lao Minister of Public Security Thongbanh Sengaphone in Hanoi on December 22.

At the reception, PM Dung expressed his pleasure at the fine development of the Vietnam-Laos special cooperation, affirming that the relationship is an invaluable asset of the two Parties, two States and two peoples.

Vietnam will do its utmost, together with the Lao people, to continue developing bilateral ties in a deeper, more practical and effective manner, he affirmed.

The Government leader spoke highly of the close cooperation between the two Ministries of Public Security, saying these efforts have made practical contributions to strengthening solidarity.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always supports intensive cooperative activities between the two ministries, especially in the sharing of experience and information on security protection in each country, mutual assistance in personnel training, and coordination in protecting border security.

For his part, Minister Thongbanh Sengaphone affirmed that his ministry will closely coordinate with its Vietnamese counterpart in implementing cooperative activities agreed by the two sides as well as building new programmes.

He expressed a wish to receive continued support, cooperation and experience sharing from Vietnam in training cadres and ensuring security and order, while hosting international conferences.

He suggested the two sides further the coordination in fighting transnational crime and drug trafficking as well as maintaining border security and order./.
