Children of poor families in the northern provinces of Ha Nam, Hoa Binh and Son La will get 120,000 glasses of free milk from the TH Group.

The Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) on June 25 received the gift, which is part of the TH Group-sponsored programme to bring warm feelings to poor children in northwestern provinces.

Under the programme, which runs from May to early July, TH Group, which is renowned for TH True Milk brand, will offer 1 million glasses of milk to local children.

According to VRC Vice President Doan Van Thai, the programme has helped improve the physical fitness of Vietnamese children, especially those in remote areas.

Thai said his association pledges to forward the significant gift to those in need as soon as possible.

Earlier, the group coordinated with the Bac A Bank to present 15,000 glasses of milk and learning tools to poor students at 10 schools in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces.

It also joined hands with the Nong Thon Ngay Nay (Countryside Today) Newspaper and several charitable associations in Hanoi to offer 170 boxes of milk, 3,000 notebooks and 30 gifts to children and households hardest hit by a recent flood in northern mountainous Lao Cai province.

In addition, TH Group has organised a wide range of charitable activities to support underprivileged children and students nationwide, including providing free milk for malnourished children in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and children at some hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City .
