The Nguyen Du Kindergarten, Primary and High School in the Lao capital city of Vientiane on May 15 launched a contest on the life and career of late President Ho Chi Minh as an activity to mark his 123rd birthday (May 19, 1890-2013).

The contest was one of the school’s important activities during the year to recall Uncle Ho’s great contributions to the Vietnamese and Lao revolutions, said the school’s rector Truong Van Tai.

It also offered a chance for the school’s students to better their understanding about President Ho Chi Minh and his patriotism, thus nurturing their love towards the homeland, he added.

As many 10 students of all grades were selected to the final round thanks to their good knowledge on the life and career of the late President.

Besides, the students also made wall-newspapers showing their love towards beloved Uncle Ho and motherland as well as joined art performances praising Vietnam and its fraternity with Laos.-VNA
