President Truong Tan Sang on Jan. 18 paid Tet visits to the central provinces of Ha Tinh and Nghe An and the Military Zone 4 High Command.

Meeting with Ha Tinh’s leaders, the State leader praised the achievements made by the province over the past few years, including an annual economic growth of 11.7 percent per year.

He reminded the local authorities to pay more attention to policy beneficiaries and poor people so that they will have a happy Lunar New Year holiday.

During the visit, President Sang offered incenses to late Party General Secretary Ha Huy Tap at his memorial site in Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district, and late Party General Secretary Tran Phu in Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district./.

In Nghe An, President Sang expressed his pleasure at the province’s socio-economic performance in 2011 with its growth rate being higher than the country’s level despite severe natural disasters.

In addition, the local authorities have paid due attention to poverty reduction, job generation and social welfare, he added.

Visiting the Military Zone 4 High Command, the President asked cadres and soldiers here to build an all-people defence and people’s security disposition in strategic areas as well as well coordinate with local regular troops and militia.
