President Truong Tan Sang on August 13 greeted Marxist scholars, Samir Amin and Francois Houtart coming to attend an international seminar on self-control schemes for countries of the South during the globalisation.

The scholars told Sang that their discussions at the seminar covered the world economic order and globalisation’s impacts on the development and economic sovereignty of countries of the South.

They also shared economic development lessons in the ASEAN and Latin American countries.

President Sang shared his view on the trend of development cooperation, saying that in an ever-changing world, countries should exercise their self-control for development. Despite sharing similar ideologies, all nations have their own development paths. Besides this, countries tend to gather into organisations or groups for mutual benefits.

According to President Sang, there should be thorough studies of development for the sake of each country, each region and the worldwide.-VNA
