State President Truong Tan Sang has said the Presidential Office and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) should further strengthen coordination to fulfill their assigned tasks for the New Year.

Sang made the statement at conference in Hanoi on January 7 to review the coordination of the State President and the VFFCC in 2011.

The State leader highlighted the coordination, saying it greatly contributed to the successful organisation of the 11 th National Party Congress and the elections to the 13 th National Assembly and People’s Councils, as well as to national achievements.

VFFCC President Huynh Dam said Vietnam is facing not only opportunities, but also challenges, but the country has gained significant achievements, thanks to the close coordination between the President and the VFFCC.
Participants at the event agreed that over the past years, the State President and the VFFCC have always paid attention to improving the living conditions of people, especially the poor, people of ethnic groups, and those living in remote areas.

The President, Vice President, and VFFCC provided people in flood-hit areas with timely assistance, and launched programmes to encourage the entire community to join hands to support them.

Both sides also promoted patriotic emulation movements and involved the people in building the Party and State, as well as the country’s socio-economic development./.
