Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has affirmed the country’s consistent policy of working closely with Russia to further deepen bilateral cooperation.

During his reception for visiting Governor of Moscow province (Moscow Oblast) Andrei Vorobyov in Hanoi on October 22, the PM expressed his joy at fruitful developments in the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent time as they have practically benefited both countries’ development.

He thanked Russia for its assistance to Vietnam’s national liberation in the past, as well as support for the Vietnamese community there at present.

The two sides will discuss measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially in economics, trade, investment, tourism, energy and technology in the upcoming meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, he told the guest.

The Vietnamese leader expressed his hope that the Russian locality will continue to promote multifaceted ties with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese counterparts in the coming time.

He suggested Moscow Oblast increase its assistance for both countries’ enterprises to foster investment and trade links, contributing to the bilateral ties.
For his part, Governor Vorobyov said his visit aims to discuss a plan to set up a Vietnam industrial park in Moscow Oblast to produce dairy products and light-industrial products. It also looks to push cooperation between the two sides in other fields.

He asserted that Moscow province always welcomes and creates the most possible conditions for Vietnamese firms to invest in the locality.

On the same day, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao welcomed Governor Vorobyov, during which the former called for a closer affiliation between Hanoi and Moscow Oblast in the time ahead, especially in science, trade, and education.

The municipal authorities will facilitate operation of Russian enterprises and investors in the city, Thao stated.

Vorobyov affirmed the Russian side is supporting Vietnam’s projects in Moscow Oblast, showing the desire to promote a nuclear power project in central Ninh Thuan province and foster cooperation in oil refinery.-VNA
