The Vietnam Farmers Association and Vietnam’s Female Parliamentarians Group approved a project to help reducing domestic violence in Hanoi on August 14.

The project will focus on approaching high-quality and essential services and social sponsors particularly in Hanoi, Hai Duong, Ben Tre and Quang Binh provinces.

It also aims to enhance the officers’ capacity and implement movements to prevent domestic violence, reduce gender inequalities and take care of and promote the role of old people.

Leu Vu Dieu, chairman of Vietnam Farmers Association, said that practices on population, birth-control, reproductive health, gender equality and preventing family violence have achieved a lot and contributed highly to the economic development and poverty alleviation in Vietnam .

The Vietnam Farmers Association and Vietnam Female Parliamentarians Group will also assist those provinces to carry out the project successfully and expand this model throughout the whole country.-VNA
